Opportunities don’t just grow.  They have to be pollinated.

If you’re growing herbs or lettuce, and are just harvesting leaves, then yeah, what grows from the seed just needs time to develop from the seed you plant.

This is like that low-cost, e-commerce product that a well-timed email can sell.

But fruit, like this Scotch Bonnet pepper, comes from a flower, and like that little brown bloom, if it isn’t pollinated, it dies.

Pollination is the point in a larger sale where a lead truly becomes an opportunity.

The point where they’re no longer developing awareness, the point where they’ve decided to do something about their problem, or not.

And like some flowers are self-pollinating while others require the help of a bee, the opportunities you’re growing may come to the decision on their own or may require some external assistance from a 3rd party recommendation.

Regardless, when fruit sets, it will still take time to develop and mature.

You’ll still need to guard and protect it.

And you’ll still have to harvest it when it’s ripe.

But if you feel like you’re putting a lot of work into nurturing leads that never seem to come to fruition, go back and look to see if they’re putting on blooms and getting pollinated.
